Grow your own Mushroom kit

This kit comes with a fully colonized 7lb block of supplemented hardwood sawdust. Choose your choice of mycelium to grow whatever kinds of mushrooms you like at home!

These kits are a great way to engage with kids and adults alike. Watching mushrooms grow and decompose the hardwood is fantastic way to watch nature work its magic.

When you get your mushroom growing kit, simply cut a 2-3 inch slit along the large side of the bag to expose a small amount of the block to fresh air. Mist around but not directly on this cut portion of the bag 2-3 times per day if possible. Mushrooms should begin to form within 1-2 weeks of cutting open the bag. 

Once you harvest your first flush of mushrooms, push the plastic back down onto the block and keep misting it to get consecutive flushes of mushrooms!

After 3-4 flushes, your mushroom block may be ready for the compost bin or to be broken up into your garden bed. You will know its time when the block feels significantly lighter than when you got it, or the mushrooms stop fruiting for a few weeks.
